For Real Helmet Porn !

I did. I went to Revzilla in Philli so I cud take my time and try on several with different cheek pads and I guess my head just don't fit an Arai. sucks cause they are by far my favorite helmets. plus they don't have a photocromatic lens like Shoie is releasing. I had that on my Bell Star which I really liked cause I usually go on late afternoon rides and come back at night.

although I wud never buy a Bell Star again nor wud I wear it if it was free. worst helmet I've ever owned. heavy, noisy, wanted to lift at high speeds, cheap material inside and just flimsy. junk imo.

Best bet, check out the NY show and hit up The Service Pavilion or even the Arai booth. With all the different shells Arai offers, I just cant see why one of the models would not fit your head.

Here is my contribution...

Had the previous generation as well.

Here is my favorite helmet to date. Its light, quiet, and fits me well. To bad they quit making them. Only paid $230 at Chapparal a little over a year ago.

The part that makes me wonder is why its so cheap. Simpson want $900 for a comparable helmet. HJC says their build process is using 2 pieces of carbon fiber. ( I guess its an easier less exspensive build process ) Simpson says their using one piece of carbon fiber to form the shell. ( more costly ) The kicker is when you look at a Simpson helmet and see a seam down the middle that indicates to me its 2 pieces of carbon fiber shell. Regardless... I am happy with it and feel I got a great deal on a very good helmet.

Yes, thats the same helmet I have. It has more lift (at speeds >100) than my Shoei rf-1100, but it's quieter.

Nice helmet! Arai is quality!
Uhm BTW, will you be wearing the helmet when you "rub one out"? Or, looking at it during the process. ???

LOL, well technically you would need to perform three sessions: (spread over three days same time of day)

1. looking at the helmet
2. wearing the helmet
3. and one with helmet not in the room (this being the control of the group)

This would be the only to know for sure the level of excitement! I may have to try this when I get an Arai:whistle:

The Speedmaster is nice but the Quality is just not there. I don't care much for the shield mechanism, but its really light Seriously, you just can't beat a properly fitted Arai
