I use kerosene and a tooth brush to clean my chain, and then use dupont chain lube most of the time. In a pinch I will wipe it down with WD-40 and then use regular chain lube, but that stuff slings everywhere!
Raises two questions.... Does the toothpaste residue harm the chain? and does the kerosene residue harm your taste buds?
I've been using the DuPont lube for a while now and I really like it! Put it on, let it sit overnight and I don't experience any noticeable mess at all.I use kerosene and a tooth brush to clean my chain, and then use dupont chain lube most of the time.
