EK chain versus RK chain.. .difference?

I have had the EK ZVX2 on my turbo bike for the last 10k miles. I changed to a Vortex Al at the same point, sprocket was shot after about 3k. I went back to the stock rear sprocket since then.

Dam good chain in my opinion. I was expecting much more frequent chain replacement with the turbo.

Hey Daniel, what sprockets are you using on the rear? and does the V2 stretch a bit more perhaps?

PBI on both or I use PTFE Vortex....my buddy street rides and races all the time has had the same chain sprockets on his bike for 2 seasons.we maintain the chain and do proper adjustments..I'll give anyone his # and you can ask for yourselves...Great Stuff made right here in Oregon..

according to Vortex, their sprockets will last longer with the RK chain.. The EK ZZZ does not stretch like the RK and so it saws through their sprockets.. (this according to Vortex when I called them about premature failure on one of their sprockets)

I run the EK ZZZ with the Stealth SuperSprox (about 17K now and still fresh as new)

You need to tell them what your preventive maintenance routine is.

Holy thread resurrection. I have always ran Sprocket Specialists Aluminum rear sprockets. I have my moments of being hard on the bike ie; drag racing, road racing and some top end stuff but haven't seen any problems. On my 2001 I was extremely hard on it for about 2 years and about 6k miles. No problem. I keep my bikes in tip top condition. Anal when it comes to maintenance but bikes are cheap to maintain compared to cars.
