I believe this one came as a cast kit?...not sure he has made some from scratch and I know one was from a kit.

He has about 10-15 motors. Some are big (used fro old oil pumps) down to a thimble motor.

it can be..but when you have more time than money and own you own lathe and mill..you can make parts.
