Casper to Indy and Back.

I LOVE reading this kind of essay. Thanks for taking the time and effort to post.

This is classic stuff... going cross country on a Hayabusa... with a partner on his first street bike... on his first trip... on a 1980's Honda... with a 60 mile fuel range. You just can't make this kind of material up.

Thanks for all the pictures. Keep up the good work.

i had to get up last night and move the bikes into a sheltered spot. it was starting to hail.

asleep by 3am up at 6am to a crummy weather report. oh well, i needed more sleep anyway.
back up at 9am and rolling by 10am.

Our 1st stop was "Welcome" Minnesota.
i popped a big wheelie, to celebrate life as i entered town.
it was overcast. not raining. i felt good. the air smelled different.
Welcome is a cute little town, what there is of it.

After another 30-40mi, Jon peeled off at a rest area. there was a mural done in tile. really cool art. i did tile for years, i know good work when i see it.
i dinked around and snapped pics while Jon pooped.

We stopped again in Albert Lea for breakfast/lunch.
after a good meal of Chicken fried steak and eggs, i waved at myself in the window and on down the road we went.

 at the next gas stop Jon pulled off for "Sexy Internet Access"
he thought that we should get a pic.
they had inflateable pigs and sheep!:rofl:
NO, i didn't get one! :lala::laugh:

Across the street from our next gas stop ther was a bike shop. we thought we would check it out and look for a throttle rocker.
No luck. Closed.

After a pretty darn good (and long) morning, we finally crossed the Mississippi river and entered Wisconsin!!
Jon had never crossed the Mississippi river! :cheerleader: i hadn't on a bike in a few years.

??? the 711's in Wisconsin have house numbers and sell cheese. at least the do in Sparta. i wonder how many Spartins live in Sparta? we thought it had a funny name, and joked about it while eating cheese and drinking YooHoo.
for the 1st time and only time today, we enjoyed the sunshine for about 45min.

our next stop was in the mist and involved a water and painkiller fill up for us both. it was beginning to get dark and cold.

i called Hayabusa4life when we were 50mi out. sitting in the dark side of the gas station. freezing.
i called him again from the Best Western in Milwaukee. Jon's idea. at this point i would have slept anywhere!

Wilson aka Hayabusa4life, rolled over and took us out for a bite to eat. :beerchug:
:poke: he took his time to modify the exhaust on his car in the parking lot of the restaurant to make it louder. i guess he was jealous of Jon's Supertrapp.?.

the bikes are locked together and safe for the night.
we are going to go visit the Mother Company tomorrow.

It was a pleasure meeting the both of you and I hope to see you again towrds the end of June. RIde safe and keep us posted.

Your dogs and boy and I are missing you. I am glad you do these reports, we find out more about your adventures this way. everyone missed you for the Awareness Day Parade. I need a patch that says "I don't know where my husband is, if you see him, send him home." Barely anyone ever says "Hi, how are you", just "Where's Russ??" Here are a couple of pics to show how many people showed for the parade and think you are cool. Be safe, buy Jon a Mt. Dew for me, and have fun. Love you.
