Buell peg mod

Hello everyone. I have been out of the road bike scene for awhile now. Going to pick up another gen 1. Is the buell peg mod still a thing since buell is no longer in business ? Someone used to sell kits. They worked well on my 08.

The Buell Part no. is n0006.1ad and they are still around, but as stated above their are other options out there at a lower price point.

Im one of the lightest riders who had them . They are great but break easily . Go Knight design , and never look back . heavy duty and if you like stand up wheelies no worries on breaking .

Sorry.. I did a search but everything was pretty old. What model and year pegs work best on 1st Gen? Also, anyone find aftermarket rear sets that can be set with lower peg? All the rear sets I've every purchased raise the pegs. Got a knee issue with the new to me bike. Thanks.

C10, do you mean the buell pegs break easily or the ebay pegs ?

The Buel pegs break easily . Just go Knight design expensive but well made and will last

I‘d agree that the Knights are built better and much more costly but I weigh over 200 and the Buell pegs have lasted quite a few years so far.

So I have been running the Buell Pegs for years and they are still a pretty great bang for the buck mod. My only issue was that my size 14 foot combined with my (still super stiff!) Sidi ST boots made it a compromise to get the shifter height right without intrusion from the kickstand in the same general space. I was always tapping the kickstand with my boot when upshifting. So I decided to remedy it once and for all. Bought a used Stock Kickstand off of fleabay just so I had the stocker as a fall back. Stripped the new stand and then Heated, re-profiled (straightened) and quenched with oil. The picks below tell the tale. The Stock KS sat almost completely to the edge of the footpeg before and the new one tucks up almost perfectly in line with the pipe. Its a subtle change, but it worked out well. Also printed a little longer Shifter extension while I was at it to help counter the offset of the Buell peg. Went for a jaunt to proof it and it worked out perfectly.
