Default Something doesn't make sense

Maybe I missed something, but roadlock on gen I (99-07)is on the rear wheel where as gen II (08-09) is on the front?
The original design seems to make more sense. With the front strut locked, most thieves are forced to lift the front end and roll the bike off. Having the locking device on the rear wheel makes it impossible to roll off, therefor much more difficult to steal. But the new lock being on the front wheel kind of defeats the purpose does it not?

The only way to keep the bike from being rolled off is if both wheels are locked. The scum just needs to place a small furniture dolly under the lock wheel.

If you need to lock up out side, run a good cable through the swingarm and both wheels.

I understand if they want it they will get it. The lock device is just providing an added level of difficulty in moving the bike. That being said, the locked strut makes it difficult to roll on the from wheel, but without the locking device on the back wheel, it is just free to wheel onto a truck and van without much lifting.
Does the gen I arachnid not work on gen II? What was the logic behind moving the lock from the back to the front?

The rear caliper on the GenII is different than the GenI, so the GenI locking device will not work.

If they want it they'll get it regardless, just makes it a little more difficult. I have a Road lok and a Scorpio on my 08. I still don't wander off from it.

Yes, the RoadLoK is simply a deterrent - like locking your car doors even though there is simply a thin piece of glass keeping a thug out of your car.

Why did we move the lock to the front wheel? As stated above, in 08 Suzuki changed the rear wheel/brake caliper design so the Arachnid would not fit. As you are probably aware - because our product is not capable of being a "universal fit" product, and because there has been so much interest in the RoadLoK, we try to make our system as "universal" as possible. Moving the RoadLoK to the front wheel on the Busa allows the unit to also fit many other sportbike applications because many manufacturers utilize the same brake caliper mounting dimensions on the front. So rather than have a RoadLoK that fits just one make and model, the new xR fits the big four manufacturers plus Triumph.

I hope this helps explain why we went that route.
