| Hey Gang! RoadLoK is looking for some Field Prototype Testers for our new Arachnid xR. Check out our website, RoadLoK® | Premium Motorcycle Locking Systems for details. This is the new Arachnid that those of you with the Gen II ' Busas have been waiting for. This will be a six week testing period and "you" can be involved in helping us to try it out and give us feedback. We are looking for high visibility type bikers/promoters such as those involved directly in motorcycle sales and service, Forum owners and Moderators and possibly those involved with motorcycle media. Applying is simple and only takes a few minutes. Don't hold back if you aren't in one of the previously mentioned groups because I will be making the final decision as to those chosen. Please do take the time to look at the list of bikes that the xR will fit. Simply stated, it will fit any sportbike with radial mounted front calipers utilizing 108 mm bolt spacing. The xR piggybacks the OEM caliper. Also, if you live in climates such as where I am - frozen New York - you probably won't be able to help us. The testing period will be running in February and March. Thanks! Chief X ______________________________________ Last edited by Chief RoadLoK; 01-13-2009 at 05:12 PM. |

I know Scar would be perfect for this. But he is flying to Pheonix in the morning for a meeting.

That looks like a great idea. I do however see 1 potential problem though. I see its bolted onto the caliper. Whats to stop someone from unbolting the caliper. Would it be possible to come up with some type of "lock" for the caliper bolts also? Any ideas on a price range for this ?

Daryl: On Kevin's (Firedog5800) recommendation, I phoned yesterday afternoon (he reached me at the airport). I'd be glad to help you in your effort. If you'd like to see what I've done for other manufacturers, let me know and I'll send you PDFs of all the product reviews I've written. Good luck, bro! ![]() And special thanks to Kevin for lookin'-out. Thanks, mang!!! ______________________________________ |

Here is a question I use something just like that except it does not bolt to the bike it has a carbide pin that goes through the disc and on top of that it has a built in alarm that is sensitive to touch, movement and shock so why is this product you have here better. This thing is foolproof and it cost 40 bucks. Please give a comparison?

The Abloy lock cylinder we use costs more than the complete disc lock you describe. Our lock has stood the test of time in all kinds of weather, dirt, grime etc. I have seen many threads on many different forums about "disc locks" malfunctioning and having to be cut off the rotor. It truly is up to the rider/biker/owner as to what he feels most comfortable with. To me personally, I have thousands of dollars in my scoots and I won't even consider a padlock on a rotor. I have spent hundreds on decorative chrome accessories that serve no purpose other than aesthetics. So a small investment in security is simply not a concern. Quality isn't expensive, it's priceless! ______________________________________ Last edited by Chief RoadLoK; 01-14-2009 at 02:03 PM. Reason: typo |

Quality isn't expensive, it's priceless! I will agree with you on that. Most people always look for the "cheap" way and might buy based soley on that principle. My theory is if it does what its supposed to do and is manufactured to the highest standards I dont mind "paying" more for something. I plan on keeping my cycle for a long long time and I dont want anyone else getting thier hands on my cycle cuz I took the "cheap" way out . Components do fail and I want buy something I know will stand the test of time. If your product works out I will get one for my 08 Busa. ______________________________________

Thanks for the offer! I did in-fact have a tester in the UK and he also ordered a RoadLoK for a Victory as he owns an on-line store. After sending him the test unit and the Victory unit and "trusting" his honesty...well - let's just say that he got a tremendous deal and RoadLoK got nothing...He's done a disappearing act too! ![]() The Testing phase is over and the units are now available. Thanks again! Chief X Quote:
