Habitual speeders are the only ones with that instinct I am usually at the posted limit so my instinct is to let off the throttle not grab a bunch brake lever

i used to disconnect the brake light switch from my rear brake so i could grab some binders without the cops seeing brake lights!

Well I must say that I am grateful to have watched this video before I went riding today!!!!

Living in Vegas I nearly forgot that even though it might not snow much here (every once in a while a few flakes make it to the earth) it does get cold in the desert and cold grip less tires (Yes even the Spidey grip Q2s) need to warm up first before taking turns like on a warm or hot day.

Fired up and left a meeting from Mandalay Bay, and raced down to make the right hander to head to the Freeway. (Like a Boss!) and noticed that the ground looked a little bit shiny, slowed down and hit the corner and nearly low slided my baby across 2 turning lanes! Luckily no one was coming and 29 years of riding kicked in and I rode it out! not what I wanted to do, as I nearly crapped my shorts because it was slick as glass! If I had not paid attention I would be looking for fairings right no!

That corner they continue to video tape on has either fallen on the right side or was improperly paved. It's impossible to see it on the video but there is a bank to that turn and a very short section where the bank falls off right after the apex. It actually screws a lot of good riders up.

I think there is a subtle drop off at the end of that turn that makes the rear of the bike light. So yes it's rider error as almost all of the slides occur when the rider applies power out of the turn but it is deceptive if you don't know that it takes much less power to break the rear end loose there than other situations. That's one of the biggest dangers riding fast on the road - sometimes traps can be nearly completely hidden. I know a road where you come to a turn and make a sharp left. But the angle of the drop gets steeper right as you tip into the curve. If you try to take this turn fast and you don't wait for what seems like too long to tip into the turn, you will find yourself pointing right into the woods! That turn has collected many a bike!
