Crossed the line at 172mph~!~ WoW...yeah, probably slowed a bit before he dumped...might have hurt his wrist

Looking at the video again it looks like his rear wheel may have locked up then he hit the front brakes.

Either way the gear is why he could walk away at those speeds.

I have the rashed leathers from my last trip across the pavement without a bike. My shoulder to the brunt of the impact, but my skin was completely unscathed.

I agree with you, most definitely. I could never wish someone to go down on hard, unforgiving pavement with leathers on, let alone without them.

Doug, glad you were wearing the goods! It certainly pays off, doesn't it. My life would not be as it is today without the variables that I made choices to wear when I went down.

Without full leathers, race boots with ankle protection, gauntlet gloves with knuckle protection and full faced helmet,, the fork in the road at that instant would have change my life,, or ended it in,,, a way I would not have had much choice in.
