Default Pro's and con's of a shoei x-eleven

Been looking for a new helmet...well my first helment since I'm new to this.

I have serach hi and low for a good helmet and was able to run across a x-eleven brand new for $240.00

Yeah..I left crack alone years ago so I'm not high

Went to a local shop today looking for an Icon main frame to try on. Talking to the guy he pulled out a x-11 that someone order and didn't pick up. Dude need something bigger then an xxl

Anywho...I want to get it tomorrow but I want some feedback from actual user other then my friend

Here is the helment

Now...If I get this helmet painted would it mess with the integrity of the helmet. I have a local guy who do all kind of airbrushing and such but I want to be safe then sorry.

Here are the color choices I want to go with

Thanks in advance for your input!

Pros Light, flows a lot of air through it, visor swaps easily, the liner comes out of it for cleaning.

Cons Noisy (because of the air flow above)

I have one and it is a great helmet.
As far as the paint, there are some precautions to take. Mostly they involve the foam. Do some research and make sure your painter fully understands.

I will never own another helmet after buying my x-11. I went from kbc-icon-shoei with some no names in between. the noise is not as bad as my other helmets and this thing vents amazingly well... You wont regret it at that price!!!!
Here is mine!!!

I know people that use shoei helmets and are very happy with them. I wear Arai and I found a Quantum II for under $300 locally because it was a 2007 color.

I wore Arai Signet-GT's for a long while, but Arai discontinued them, and replaced it with a model that does not fit the same
I was forced to look at Shoei and found the X-11 to be next best thing although I still miss my Signet-GT.

Pros:
Shield replacment is simple
Air flow is great
light with nice paint quality

Cons
It does not have the air deflector below the chin like the Arai. It has a removable piece that I dont care for
Minor fogging on colder mornings
No shield vents like my old Arai
Noise and whistle from top vent

For $240 it's a no brainer though. I paid 350

I went from a Scorpion ex750 which was like a brick on my neck to a Shoei x11, never been happier. The one thing that Scorpion had was an awesome visor, didn't even fog up in the winter. I paid $530.00 for my X-11, so lemme come over and smack you if you don't get yours.

Best ventilation. Haven't tried nu Arai. Wind noise only an issue when breaking law; don't
we all?

Who Makes the Preferred Helmet?

Here's what the .oRgsters have to say about Shoei.

The X-11 is their top of the line.

I have two, and I love them both.

Strongly recommended.

What really sucks about the x-11 is that after you get one, you blow up your old hobby of looking for helmets as you've just got the kit.
