Need recommendations on disk imaging software


My main focus points are as follows:


1) Would like to be able to create a single file disk image that I can use to restore a system to a baseline

2) Would like disk image file to be compressed as much as possible.



I was thinking about Nortons Ghost

Anyone have any better solutions.

And by the way, I need to keep it as cheap as possible. Free even if there is anything out there

Ghost is good...we use it to support over 600 PCs.

yep ghost is great. but recently I been looking at freeware alternatives. they are really coming along with those.

+another for Ghost. We use it for all of our PCs/laptops.

90% of my servers are ESX server VMs...so I just 'clone' a VM for a new server...

If they are Dell use the new free online Dell image solution... I have ghost deployed in over 30k machines. We are using Altiris to deploy the images and that eats bandwidth.. The Dell solution is actually pretty slick.....

If you do go with Ghost and you intend to image on your network set up a multi cast server.....
