So my niece can not get married in the local church, no we had to fly out to Milano, drive a hire car for 3 hours to Malcesine on the shore of lake Garda.

According to my boss "destination" weddings are the rage right now. Our minister's daughter is going to Alaska for her wedding. Our niece had her wedding on Baldhead island and my nephew is getting married in a Swedish castle next August. I put my foot down on that one. I'm not going to Europe to attend. I'll just go to the local reception. They're having two; one on each side of the pond. I could buy another bike for the cost of sending my family to the wedding. I will say that your niece's wedding location looks beautiful. The pictures are breath-taking, and it looks like the trip was something you and your wife enjoyed! I wish the new couple many years of happiness!
