Tough Situation

I just got word a little bit ago that my cousins 1 1/2 year old son is having complications of the worst kind.

A bit of history. Levi was born with a very rare heart condition. I don't know the name of it. He has already had two open heart surgeries at this point. His third was scheduled this morning. They have a highly specialized team from all over the world coming in to do this surgery.

This morning he went into cardiac arrest. At this point they have been given two options.

1. - Let him go. Just let him pass away and stop fighting what will probably kill him very shortly anyways.

2. - Try and get him to recover. With a lot of help from the hospital they "may" be able to get him healthy enough for the surgery. If so they will have to reschedule the surgery around the teams schedule. It could be a year before they can be assembled again. Maybe longer.

Either way he stands a high chance of not making it much longer.

Prayers would be appreciated. My cousin Katy is gonna need em.

As I get more info I will update.

Oh man, I hate when little ones have to go through things like this. Prayers are sent my friend.

News like this puts every one of our own wildly out of control issues solidly back in perspective.

Big hugs for you and your family, Jeff. Wish I was there to support...you know I would 24/7. What you need, well, you know...

My best to you and yours, and please be strong, brother.

Update:

I just left my mom's house. We cannot visit him due to hit immune system being so weak and all the medical equipment attached to him. Visitors are very limited, but my mom was able to get in and see him today.

The doctors are saying that he appears to be recovering well. The neurologist will see him tomorrow to make sure there was no brain damage caused by the cardiac arrest. As is stands there window for the surgery is very narrow. The specialist will only be here for another week. They are going to shoot for surgery next week if the neurologist comes back with a go ahead.

My cousin, Katy, is taking it as well as one can. But she has such a spirit about her. Nothing can shake her faith, and with that faith nothing can really get her. She amazes me.

Her mom, my aunt, is not taking this well. She is angry with God about her daughter dying and now the possibility of losing a grand child has made her exceptionally bitter. That is taxing on Katy. Thankfully we have a strong and suportive family.

Thanks for all the prayers, they are very welcomed.
