This time Tommy Hayden has been included in the fiasco.
From Road Atlanta.. Soup :: Mladin and Hayden DQ'd After Friday Qual :: 08-29-2008

:wtf: is going on? How can a three bike team like Rockstar-Makita Suzuki have different crankshafts, one good and two bad without someone in the team noticing? I realize the three sections might keep their suspension settings under wraps a little bit but after Mladdin getting DQ'd from the last races I'd think it would be in the team interest as a whole to make sure their cranks were right before letting a repeat performance happen.

This is nothing more than DMG overtly attempting to foil Mladins shot at the title!!! No one can even remember bikes being torn down before qualifying before. Mladin has been the most vocal of the racers against the DMG takeover and now all of a sudden he is getting the treatment. Why would you want to crap all over one of the biggest draws in the paddock otherwise? I presume that a lot of people go to the trouble and expense of going to these races to see the greatest racers in the US and without Mladin and Spies in the race what do you have? Guess we'll see next year!

Tom Houseworth saw the writing on the wall and came to ATL with a Production crank for Spies bike just to shut em up. His wound up being the only one not torn down.

At this point they (DMG) are just bastardizing the final true AMA Championship! :madfire:

AMA has been on the downhill slide for the past 3/4 years, this should seal the deal! The dmg is just putting the final nails in the coffin. What a shame, at the height of the motor cycling movement in the US and we are left holding the bag.Politics and social control rears its head in yet another aspect of daily life. The indy car debacle and nascar commericialism neatly rolled into one big cluster.... :moon:

I know its a repost but I had to! :poke:

Like it was said in recent interviews its going the way of the WWF and Nascar, let the drama begin...geeesh

Did anyone see the 2nd superbike race from Road Atlanta? If not you missed a doozy! Looked like another Mladin runaway win at Road Atlanta. But about Half Distance, with a lightening fuel load Spies finally found his groove and it was on! He was gaining almost half a second a lap at one point and the pass was awesome! Dueling side by side, head shaking, power wheelies with a privateer right beside em to spice it up! Spies eventually gapped him by over 7 seconds at the finish. That was a comeback almost as good as Laguna last year. I am really going to miss seeing these two battle next year. The Cloud DMG has cast over this championship wont take away some of the best racing ever.

Well its all over but the crying now. Spies is officially the Champion again (3 straight). I doubt Mat could have caught him regardless of the outcome of the appeal but the way this one went down was just shady!!! Congrats to Spies, best wishes to Mat!

"Daytona Beach, Fla.--AMA Pro Racing announced today that the appeal of the disqualification of Mat Mladin on the #6 Suzuki from the Superbike races at Virginia International Raceway on August 16-17, 2008 has been deemed without merit and has been denied. The original penalty remains as previously announced and becomes final with this decision."

If Spies comes in 2nd or 1st in Laguna, then it wouldn't have mattered at all.

But the DMG are a bunch of retards for taking a season finishing nail biter that would have excited the fans, and turned into a meaningless race that won't get anybody excited...

At least it'll be the last great Superbike race. Hopefully Ben doesn't get conservative, time for him and Matt to let it all hang out at the last true Superbike race.

I think Ben would have had to start the race and finish in something like 19th or better to wrap it up in a straight fight. Sort of makes the Finale' anticlimactic as all get out! Oh Well on to Indy! Hope Spies can wrap up a decent MotoGP ride by then. I would be really disapointed to see him go to WSBK after the season he just had!

What a vessel of excrement! The AMA/DMG/NASCAR gang decided the outcome of the final true AMA Superbike Series within 13 minutes of receiving the requested materials from Suzuki. This has to be the most blatant misuse of power I have ever been witness to in professional motorsport! The ultimate outcome of the series was most likely not affected but the damage is unquestionable. I hope these idiots wear there new series like a soiled baby diaper full of cold trouser chili next year! :poke:

Nascrap/DMG has already demoralized a series that's been demoralized enough as it is. It seems to me that they get their frills from the off track/gossip/antics etc. Same as Nascrap and WWE. Just like Edmondson said earlier "We're in the entertainment business."

Fugg that!!!!

OH Geezzzzzzzzzzz, how exciting how DMG is going to make the Top Level Racing event a 600cc Club Race:clap:. Now that take BRAINS and I'am sure I'll just be waiting to TAPE each race so I don't miss anything . Ya know, Not everyone could take an Event (even with it's problems :banghead: ) and make it a, "WHO WANTS TO WATCH" Event ?

I haven't seen ANY Manufacture say they will Be Back Next year, other than just SUPPORT for PRIVATE teams. Now, Ya got to admit, NOT everyone could destroy an Event as well as this:bomb::down::flush:

Well it finally happened today. The manufacturers (Sans Yamaha) will run their own series next year opposite the DMG series. This is going to be interesting now. Looks like Yamaha is desperate to say they have an AMA Superbike Championship one way or another. Nobody to race, should be an easy route to a championship.
