Hey, all...I'll be headed back to Seattle in a couple of weeks and thought it'd be nice if the available lot of us could get together to tell some stories or some such thing.

I will be staying with friends in Lake Stevens (of Cycle Barn fame), but traveling all over Seattle and Vancouver, BC.  I do have some work commitments, but those will be generally during business hours.  Supposed to go to the horse races on Friday night, too; but I may bail on that.

I fly in to SeaTac on Wednesday, 13 August and out again on Monday night, the 18th.

I'd be great if we could (at least) share a meal, a cool, refreshing beverage, and snap a group shot to share w/the .oRg...

Anyone available/interested?

RSVP here or by PM...

PS:  I'm throwing a pic in this thread because I know how much they're appreciated.

I'm in... Dunno for what, but I'm down for whatever...

I'm thinking a couple of 8-Balls, a couple of very classy escorts (and one not so classy), and call it a weekend...

Wait, OK OK, I know being all grown up now... How about some chow and lie telling?

Lemme know, I'll get hold of the Infamous GTO abuser.

OK, but I think we're going to need a couple of 8balls each, yo. Isn't that pool table slang or something something?

As I pm'd you, I'm staying w/Kelly, so I am infinitely flexible. Loads of free-time, rental car, and a company Amex, so tons of mad cash to spend!!!

Look forward to seeing you, Keith. Anyone else you can 'drum up' well...I'll let you decide.

Seattle is a Nice Place. If I ever Got a Job Offer there I would Take it in a Heartbeat. The Only thing is the Roads....They are set up for the amount of Rain they Get...You will understand what I mean if you have Ever Been there

Oh, sure...been there tons. One thing the roads are NOT built for is the volume of traffic they see. It's amazing. What else is amazing is for the amount of rain they get, they're not very skilled at driving in it.

Of course, San Diego goes Cata-Frickin'-Tonic if it even thinks it's going to drizzle (on the one day per year that it's supposed to)...so we can't say too much about the Washingtonians and their inherent lack of skill/training.

I think the volume of rain that Seattle gets is over-reported in order to keep people away. It's a great city.

Course...I love Sacramento, as well.

I was just in Sacramento last Friday. Flew in to give some training to a sales force at our distributor in Fairfield...flew out same evening.

WTF are they thinking shutting down the 5 on a Friday afternoon for repairs? Hello!

Anyway, quite confidentially, there's a company there who is courting me to come work up there.

Maybe you could show me some of the roads. In the next couple of weeks, I'll be doing another day-trip to Sac to go over the details of this position...and they'll try to entice me to make the switch.

We'll see...I know there are a lot of great people from Sac on the .oRg; turning out to be that you're one of them!

Oh, yeah...I forgot to mention. You're right about Downtown Sacramento (esp. the historic district and all that along the river). Amazing the number and type of trees. I love the way they canopy over the downtown residential streets; and the capital is gorgeous.

Hey Scar. How is your evening looking on the 17th? The wife and I may make a trip up to do the Underground Tour, she has always wanted to, and if you are available for dinner would love to say hi.

Dr. Carman, I presume.

Uh...let's see. On the 17th, I'll be on my way back from Vancouver. How late will you be in Seattle? It's totally do-able. I suspect I'll be back in the US long before dark, so we could go get some fish down by Pike Market...or ?

Maybe we should shoot for this evening (the 17th) for a group shot or something.

Keith? That's a Sunday. Maybe you and your lucious other half would grace us that evening.

Sounds cool, Jeff (can I call you that?). Thanks for hittin' me up.

You can call me whatever you want

well... not honey or anything like that.

Just have to make it back to P-town in time to go to work in the morning. Actually, I may just take that Monday off then so I don't have to worry about it and the wiffle can sleep in the car. She needs like 12 hours a night

and when she reads this I will be beat... Was worth it

I'm taking Monday off, too...just gonna kick it around Seattle. Cycle Barn is shut down on Sundays/Mondays so I'll probably have my bud, Kelly and his girl, Taylor with me. Should be an awesome crew.

Yes, I do need 12 hours of sleep. I have to make up for your lack of sleep to keep the national average at 6. And you are right and I am going to have to beat you now...

Anyhoo Scar, it will be nice to meet you. And, finally go on that tour. I don't do fish personally...but what else do they have in Pike Place? I might just have to go with salad (I am easy to please) ANYHOO...yay!

Jeff: You cannot possibly be the only .oRg member in Portland.

Well, maybe you can.
laugh.gif
Maybe.

Cool. We'll trade phone numbers by PM as the days draw nearer. Sounds like it's going to be a good time.

PS: Busawife is a 'live wire'. Please remind her to wear her gloves when she's beating you...it'll prevent splinters and calluses.

Anyone else in Seattle?

Looks like the dinner on Sunday evening has the 'green light', so if anyone else wants to join (so far there are eight of us), we'd be glad to have you.

8!

I have been looking around, and I may be the only member in Portland... and one of very few Busa's in the area.

In fact, I ran into a guy who is a motorcycle enthusiast the other day. Lived in Portland for 30 years, never seen a Busa before....

You must feel very special.

I know that being the only 'busa in my group for the longest time made me really stand out from the clowns.

Now that there's another 'busa (Yash/StealthRider00), we're forming a better, 'clown-free' group. It's a more aggressive group, spankier (in fact); and because of this we are able to tame entire mountain ranges in a single shred.

Hmmm. Sure wish I wasn't sitting at my desk. I may have to take the afternoon off...

Me, in my mind, at work-->

We talking Sunday the 17th or the 10th? Hit me back, shouldn't be problem either way...

It's the 17th, brother. I'll only be there 13-18AUG08, so...

Any restaurant suggestions down by Pike? It'll be a further drive for me coming from Vancouver, BC, but it'll also be a drive for the Carmans coming from Portland, OR.

Figuring Pike would be decent. Totally open, though.
