Hey gang, I am lookin for a new point & shoot after my camera bit the dust in my crash last weds

I would like the best all around without going to an SLR.

The last camera I had FUJI F450 was kinda limited but had some great features, simple, 5.5 mp , and the coolest thing was allways charged and ready. I would just set it in the cradle when I got home.

For convienence I would buy the same again plus they are cheapr than 2 years ago, HOWEVER, I am open to suggestion for a camera under $300 with compact size and rechargable battery ... ?

any thoughts?

Yes, buy a Canon SD870 IS, You will like it. OR

The SD950 IS. Titanium Body, 12 megapixels, nice controls and fits in a pocket.

Also for about $180 you can get a little SD1000. Simple, 7 megapixels and takes great shots...

Here's some more in the Sony Camera Thread Bro.

I've had several digital Elphs and I swear by them. Not fancy, but rugged, and good.

Shot from an older SD300 Cannot beat the price and quality of the shots..

Ole Bulletrain was a fan as well.

I'm a Canon fan too, but I recently found a Samsung NV10 that's compact and takes pretty good pictures. It's got a magnesium case, 10Mp, and easy to use controls. It's a pretty tough little bugger. It also makes movies at 640x480 30fps.

If you do choose a Canon you'll get a great camera no matter which one you choose.

Stay away from Canon!
Get a Nikon Coolpix to fit your requirements.
Nikon is superior and has more options available than Canon.

i just recently bought a sony cybershot with 7.2 pixels.
it has a zeiss lens and i am very satisfied with it. very
compact. fits in your pocket or tank bag. takes awesome pics
and is very user friendly. one of my best purchases this year
other than the BUSA.
