This picture is worth 1,000,000 words. Semper Fidelis!

We truly take a lot for granted. Forget the football "heroes" and movie "stars". This is the price of freedom.

For those who can't read the caption, it says:
"Pearl Harbor survivor Houston James of Dallas embraced Marine Staff Sergeant Mark Graunka, Jr. during a Veterans Day commemoration in Dallas yesterday. Graunka lost a hand, a leg and an eye when he defused a bomb in Iraq last year. This weeks images of U.S. Troops in combat in Fallujah deepened the day's significance for many who attended tributes held in San Diego and across the nation." - Associated press

As a servicemember I say, "thank you" and for all the other servicemembers I say, "God Bless".

While on this subject:

There was a good program on PBS last night (Frontline) about the Post Traumatic Stress that soldiers suffer from during and after serving in wars (focused mainly on WWII, Vietnam and Gulf), and the lack of support for the problem.

We owe a big debt to these guys, and we should care for them both during and after the conflicts.

Wow. Chills and goosebumps from that photo, and a teary eye. Excellent photo.
