Ok, short story.. I have a honeymoon from August 8th to August 15th in Las Vegas. I already schmoozed the MGM Grand into giving me a celebrity spa suite for 7 days for 800 dollars :) Now I gotta find some decent airfare.. so can anyone out there who finds deals on airfare a lot find me something from Atlanta to Las Vegas for the above dates for two people.. for less than 770. I know there's gotta be something out there, but I'm just having no luck.

I went to Kayak.com and it looks like continental offers the best deal @ $370 a person round trip. Not sure if this

will work, but you could do it for $740.28

Hope that helps.

man.. is vegas normally that expensive.. even if buying 6 months early? I always thought they'd make it cheaper and the city would give kickbacks to the airlines or something for getting people there.

The last time I went we booked almost a year in advanced and ended up paying $500 a person, but we got a deal that included Hotel and Air Fare. One of the reasons that it is so expensive is cause your doing a Sat - Sat trip. If you did it like Friday - Sunday or something it might be a little cheaper.

Also, your going to have to tell me how you got the MGM Grand Deal! ???

Air Mobility Command, Space-A....About the cheapest you can get.

The wife and I are going out to Vegas in March, from Iowa $269 per person air/hotel, then of course they sock you with 911 fee's,added secrurity, luggage, pick your seats, any way got us both there for under $700 for 4 days,3nights,

There is deals to be had, we just kept looking on-line, the deals to vegas change every week sometimes even sooner- the same deal we have was $100 more per person a week before.

Keep looking and good luck

Hmm.. I've checked on Delta.. they seem to be more expensive.. air tran being the cheapest (the 770 deal). If anyone is interested in the MGMGrand deal... I called up, and just asked for a price.. the lady originally told me 1100 for a regular room.. then i told her i was going on a honeymoon and needed a suite.. she then quoted me 857 for a room that should've been more expensive than the first.. I didn't argue at all! lol. I snatched that for a 95 dollar deposit.

So y'all think I should wait and see if prices go down, or snatch this and assume that the prices will go up?

call back and ask someone different at the hotel ;) I can also tell you that the JW Marriott if you want something not on the strip has some amazing rooms, great property, amazing views of red rock, tons of local area things and within 15mins of the strip. Just a thought, if you go that way let me know I can probably get you a pretty decent upgrade

Love me some Marriott...I almost always try to stay there.

Funny you said that.. I just called back and was asking about cirque du soleil tickets.. apparently if you stay at the mgmgrand you get 40% off.. and i mentioned the deal you said earlier and they knocked another 57 dollars off the total hotel price.. and I am now staying in this room: Celebrity Spa Suite for a week.. for 800 dollars even.

I think I'll wait a week and call back again and try to get some more price knocked off :p Now off to sign up for my players card!

Heh.. I also have full cancellation refun until 48 hours before the stay.. so I'll look into the Marriot also.. maybe come at them and use the marriot as a bargaining token saying I want to move to that hotel, and they'll knock off more money at the mgmgrand :p

I always use Orbitz for Natl flights. 385 per non stop . LInk wont load but check it out if you want.
Just remember your going to Vegas to spend $ . you aint getting there cheap and the airlines want their fair share !

Ya I understand.. but there's always some way to do it cheaper, lol.. man I am the wrong guy to be going to vegas huh? lol. It payed off on the carnival cruise we went on last year.. everytime you buy a classic drink on the ship.. you can turn in your receipt at the casino for a 5 dollar match bet.. we made 1200 dollars on the cruise gambling :p

also dont forget using sites like orbitz, expedia, etc require that you work with them if there are any travel issues (canceled flights, delays, etc) where if you book through the airline directly, you can interact with the reps at the airport/gate to resolve your issue.

just a pearl of wisdom from someone that is in airports multiple times a week

Thanks for the reminder.. I fly international pretty often, but not stateside.. and the international is done through my companies travel agency.. i know how annoying it is when I have to call the travel agency when I'm in the airport to get a ticket changed!

if u can convince the airlines your flying into town for a funeral they will give you a steep discount.... to be on the safe side you had better go to a funeral while your there..oh wait u said honeymoon..yep funeral is already happening by then
