Breast cancer can strike at any age...

A lot of times we joke about each other, things we do, things we don't do and even the bikes we sometimes ride/crash...there is one thing we can not joke about and that is we have one life to live.

Most of you woke up last week and made plans for what you were going to to later in the day and even some made plans for rides they want to take later this summer. A close friend of ours woke up last Monday and the thoughts on her mind were of her up coming wedding but something happened that morning that has forever changed her life and those around her.

She found a lump in her breast. She made an appointment and was seen that day. Tests were run and by the evening her doctor called her and asked her to be in his office first thing the next morning. She was stunned to see not only her doctor but three other doctors as well. It turns out this lump has a blood supply and due to the extent of the tumor (fully metastasized) she was told to make final arrangements and to how she would like her daughter to be cared for and to plan for a very difficult fight for her life. This cancer is aggressive in nature, has spread throughout her body and the doctors were shaken by just how quickly it has progressed.

Some may say the doctors were cold in what they did and said, but quite the opposite. Her doctor called in some of the best cancer specialists the hospital has and have laid out an no holds bar attempt to help her fight for her life.

Today she is moving forward with Chemo and Radiation treatment, but her plans of a wedding have shifted into a full on fight for her life. She is 29 years old, she is not a smoker and does not drink, very active and physically fit with no family history of cancer. I would ask that if have a girlfriend, wife or significant other please make sure they take the time to self examine at least one a month. Breast cancer is not something that can be taken lightly nor should it be. My prayers sent as well. The very same thing happened to my ex-girlfriend, things turn around, everything that happens, happens for a reason. We are all part of ones big plan.

Prayers sent, I've stood by it first hand.. but the fact that they're gonna put up a fight is the first step to beating it. God bless her.

Prayers Sent for her and the family. My mother is a stage 4 breast/bone cancer survivor for the past 8 years.I swear prayers and the power of positive thinking have made all the difference in the world.
