Looking for fans of HBO's series entitled ROME.

HBO: Rome

This is an epic series, high budget and following a realistic production without cgi or special effects.

I have not seen it. Do you know what season it is in?

The production is like watching History unfold. Unapologetic and unpretentious, gives a new meaning to Roman ambition and the expansion of the empire using the Alpha male Roman soldier. My SPQR tattoo takes on a new dimension..

Ummm....ya this sounded a little...gay.

If I elaborated a little more, it may have been seen as obscene. What I mean is that the Romans literally went about on a wholesale slaughter of males in new territory and followed that with forced inpregnation of the women.. There is a scene near the beginning in which Marcos Antonius (Mark Anthony the lover of cleopatra) "takes" a woman who is herding a flock of sheep near a well travelled road.

I am making my way through the first season and it is great. Fighting, stealing, sexy time, and the women are even more evil than the men...

I was kidding.....:moon:

The thing I found most impressive was how nonchalant the Romans were whilst carrying out behavior that today would be called savagery. In one scene, a slave brings a small heater to warm the room near Octavian and accidentally touches his leg with the hot metal. The young Octavian doesn't even hesitate when he backhands the slave. Simple things like pornographic graffiti are panned over with the camera without any type of implication of controversy. The statement: "When in Rome do as the Romans" defines it all. It's how they roll, their culture was spectacularly effective in propagation and it shows how obsessed they were to the point of calling it social programming.

It's great.

I HOPE YOUR HAPPY....:moon:

Now I'm hooked (AND LEARNED IT'S BEEN CANCELED :banghead:).

I finished Season 1 (watched 4 hours last nite btw ) and just
started season 2. Darn Netflix is slow.

It Rocks, Thanks Projekt :beerchug:

Pullo and Vorenus are so bad :moon:
And the political jockeying...very interesting.

Can't stand Brutus...what a weenie (good actor though)
Mark Antony...very well played as was Ceasar and all the rest.
