I currently am learning on a 1997 GSX-R 600 and have it slightly modified. ex. yoshi slip on exhaust and stabalizer bar. I am looking to mod the bike so i will have to use less clutch to bring it up off the ground. I am trying to sell this bike to get something bigger. I don't know if I am ready for the busa but know I want one in the future. Regardless I think I am going to start with a 520 conversion for the gearing on the 97. Any other tips and tricks anyone recommends?
thanks

If you are looking for a bike that is better for wheelies and stoppies and the like... Then you might want to get something other than a Busa. A used R1 or CBR954 or GSXR1000 will be a much better tool for wheelies and stoppies and other stunts than a Busa. And much cheaper to repair after falls. These bikes all weigh about 100 pounds less than the Busa. And the bikes, as well as parts for them, are generally cheaper.

busa_seeker,

You should be able to get it up just like it is. If you can't without popping the clutch you need more practice before going to a bigger bike!

The only thing a bigger bike is going to do is make it come up a lot higher and faster. This is not good espicially if you are learning.

The 520 conversion will help but you really don't need it. I would just save the money for a down payment when you are ready for a R1/GSXR1K!

Like the others have stated, the BUSA is not a good trick bike! Go with a lighter LITER bike.

I loved my R1 and could wheelie it for miles but it just wasn't fast enough. I don't care about stoppies or tricks anymore so I bought something I can mod. The Busa pulls good wheelies but isn't the easiest for the other stuff.

Good luck and don't hurt yourself!

Josh

Try bouncing the front. Push down on the forks right before you power the wheelie and it should come up a little easier. Don't snatch it too hard, you will end up on your arse. I feel the busa is heavy for that kind of repetitive abuse.
