Don't think there would be any waking up.Can you imagine waking up to that headache the next morning.
I have had that happen a few times and wonder how someone with a shorty helmet or no helmet copes with this...a big June bug hitting my helmet at even slower speeds sounds like a gunshot...And keep the visor down. Today just seconds after lowering my visor after riding very slow thru some pretty corners, I felt a hard hit right in front of my eyes. Woulda hurt for sure!
Agreed. A helmet took the life of a person very close to me.I've seen death from people wearing helmets as well as not wearing helmets.
That would sour me from riding as well....Allegedly from his brother..
His entire left side had nasty road rash.
As for other injuries:
Three pelvic fractures
Ruptured Liver
Ruptured Spleen
Internal bleeding from the liver and spleen
He also had a nasty black eye, and a noticeable bruise on his forehead, probably from the initial impact with the box when he was traveling 70 mph.
Unfortunately, no. He was wearing a hoodie and jeans, as I understand. We're all very aware of how lucky he is though. He won't have need for the proper riding gear in the future; he's decided not to "get back on the horse" as motorcyclists seem to say, as I've learned.
