Playing Around With Some Paint...

Hi all,

I finally have got around to do some painting of the bar ends and the V35s.

I have order a set of paint from one company - there was a looong wait and getting paypal involved but managed to get the paint in the end.

The set consisted of primer, mixed colour and lacquer.

The process was fairly simple, I have first removed the parts, cleaned them properly, let them dry and then painted (2 coats of each).

1. Panels ready - I have stuck them to a piece of wood with double sided tape.

2. I have drilled a hole in a piece of wood so that each piece is stable and would not be blown away by the pressure from the spray.

3. 2 x coats of the primer with 30 minutes in between to let it dry.

4. The same to the bar ends.

5. Two coats of colour, followed by two coats of lacquer.

6. Let it dry.

7. Put back onto the V35s

I haven't yet put the boxes onto the bike yet (need to install the rack) but when I do it I will share some pic's of it.

8. I did however put the bar ends, so you can see that the colour is almost identical.

Overall I am happy with the result, of what costed about £20, we'll see how long it lasts as it was my first time painting anything like this.
