Looks like a good time was had...

Heard a rider went down hard on the Skyway; do you know what happend, if he/she is OK?

She is still in UT. She went down doing about 40 mph. Misjudged a turn and went too wide. Hit gravel and impacted with the guard rail. No broken bones however she has some nerve damage and can't feel her hand. Her bike was lowered 3" which may have contributed.

Oh no! Hate to hear that :( I hope she'll be OK...is she a member here? Busa rider? Someone we know?

Her name is Christina and I don't know if she is on the oRg. I met her and her husband at the CROT in the spring and had invited them then. Great people and I feel so bad that this happened. Another instance in which we had a slow touring group and someone wrecked. There are just some things you can't control and it sucks!

Thoughts go out to her! That's not a good day for any rider :(

I am glad we asked Robert to bring up the rear...... Me and a couple of people had turned around to look for them and I thought I had gone back all of the way to our last stop. I thought maybe they had a problem and turned around so I made a judgement call and decided to lead the group through the rest of the trip. What normally would be about a 3 and a half hour ride ended up taking over 6 hours. By the time we got to tellico, a guy there had told us about a pink busa going down as he recognized our shirts. Shortly after, one of our group had a scanner and told us the helicopter was almost there. Robert did an excellent job in controlling the scene and assisting Christina and Amos. Thank you dadofthree.

Oh man! sorry to hear :( Hope that she'll recover from her injuries.

Maybe we should do a little "class" before the beginner rides. Simple things like watch the road not the rider in front of you, just because the person in front of you did it doesn't mean you can, ride your pace, etc. Also helps to have a guy in front and in rear with communication, although on the mountain you might not get enough range even for the length of the group.

Anyway hope she gets better soon.
