Indy Moto GP trip pics

Left the hurricane behind and headed well inland. NO emoticons-oh the humanity-I will push on though.

We hit our first new state by bike in what seems like forever(only been a year),they are getting farther and farther away to reach! This is good, as it means lots of miles.

First set of pics are rt 10/22 in kentucky. The road is the dragon/28 mix that is superb.Amazing road.,not to be missed. ?? for anyone familiar with it-is this the road that the trucker tried to run the biker off the road on youtube? Intersection at the end(our beginnig) looked familiar.

This road goes on and on,great asphalt and engineered beautifully. As good as any in WV&NC. Potentially very dangerous though-lots of blind spots. In the one pic we came up on the tobacco tractor and workers, like right NOW!!!
They were unaware of us for a bit,got to watch some "advances" between the co-workers for a few.Strange senario, we had a good head shaking laugh between us! You had to be there!!!

Next pics are of the track, first visit after a lifelong wait! If you follow a set of about 5/6 pics you can see Ben work his way thru the pack,1 lap at a time. I also captured Stoners pass for the lead and Spies pass on Lorenzo FOR 3RD. Also pics of the 2-up ducati rides, moto 2 start.
Not the most exiting race, but we had a good view of the action.

Last pics are on the way home(Ohio,WV) and from greensburg IN.(hotel stay)Tower tree is there claim to fame. The bikers at hotel let us join them on race day and escorted us right to the gate-NO stress on finding our way there! Nice bunch of guys from tenn, va.

Lots of pics and as usual most road pics taken off the back of the bike at speed. Enjoy, was a fun time.

I was just looking at your pics, nice job! We have got 1/2 the track covered in action photos!

Saw a hand full of Busas here & there, not yours though, as I would not have forgotten it!
Draws a little bit of attention ,does it ?!!!!

Forgot a few final pics,a couple pretty striking ones of WV in the morning.

Also the new inline 6 cyl. touring BMW,beautiful!!! Did not run into the owner as I was very curious about the bike.

The trip logged in at 1806 (S)miles.

Next time take a few pictures so you can share your trip with the group...

Thanks for the pics, those were some great shots.

Thanks guys,
Yeah, that is probably only 1/4 of all the pics taken. Will not torture you with any more though.
Was the best trip ever as far as riding weather goes.

Yeah Superbeagle,
as much as was possiable. If I could find a way to get out/around the megalopolis I would gladly do all backroads! The highway is unfortunatly mandatory at times.
My biggest issues are safety, then boredom. Its also just plain ugly-least in the N EAST.
Then you have to contend with the incompetents ETC,and the road debris.
I hit a truck tie down(laying lengthwise) and an hour later a 3/4 piece of truck carcass(ERrrr!) while changing lanes in heavy traffic.Rode right over it!The bike did not even flinch. If it was laying the other way,I shudder to think of the consequences.
Shook me up for most of the end of the ride. Seems the highway is usually the neg. aspect of any bike trip for me.A nec. evil I guess.

Thanks HB4life,
was hoping to personalize/capture it in that way, so everyone could get that feeling of being there.
.Makes for great memories too look back on!
The more trips we do,the better we get at it.Heres to more trips!

02Spool nice images -
My wife and I must have been seated about 20 metres to your left in the stands (turn 1)

Indy's the best place to watch Moto GP as you can get close to the track action and pretty close to the riders on stage. Although it's getting busier every year, 2009 was really quiet and you could walk anywhere. the Hall of Fame use to do a track tour, but not this year:banghead:
It's a shame we only had a car to drive around in, but at least we drove the Kentucky speedway track in it:laugh:
