Org Hoons return from Sturgis. (pic and fun heavy!)

After a fine meal we headed down the road to Sundance.
I had call the Dime Horseshoe Bar up there last week and asked what time the burnouts start. I was told 4pm. Well I was lied to. We made it to Sundance right as the burnouts were ending. :banghead:
We did get to see the wet t-shirt contest:thumbsup:. Although the t-shirts disappeared pretty quickly.

After we had our fill we rode on to Devil’s Tower. We pulled up and found a big bear to park next to and enjoyed another free soda as we watched the sun dip behind the rock.
Devil’s tower is such a neat place. I really like stopping there. The place is way photogenic!

Right up the road is Hulett. The town was beginning to wind down as we rolled in. no panties Wednesday has mellowed over the years and now it’s more of a merchandise thing. Oh well. We got our patch and sticker, checked out a really neat old Harley sidecar unit, got hassled by a drunk kid that loved our bikes and hit the road.
We stopped at the state line for a few pics. Then it was a short highway burn into Sturgis.
:beerchug:

39 pics posted maybe 100 or so to go:cheerleader:

LoL! Who really even knows. Awesome pix though. That burger ... totally wrapped in bacon. Really?? Why have i not tried this!

At this point we have only had a taste of the roads to come. The road in and out of Hulett is nice. It’s a good break from the rolling hills of the flats of Wyoming.

???Where were we? :laugh:Oh yea, headed to Sturgis.

Sturgis is crazy! People and bikes everywhere! As soon as you exit off the highway your in it. Vendors pack every square inch. The sidewalks are full of people and the streets packed with bikes.
I took us on down Main St. and amazingly enough found a parking spot for both of us, about 20’ from the front of the AIM / NCOM building.

We were greeted by Allan who had a dvd of pics for me from the last NCOM convention. I watched the window and signed up a few folks for AIM cards, while he fetched the dvd. We went down stairs and said hello to Mike and Dog. I didn’t get a pic of Paul with the Hells Angels…:poke: he didn’t even want a patch from them..:rofl:

We walked up and down Main St. checking out the shops and the people out profiling.
We were getting hungry again and walked over to Bob’s café. The burger there was lame. wonder bread bun and crummy fries. But we ate it and were happy. At least they served beer.

By this time it was getting late and I was ready to find a place to camp for the night. So I led us out to Bear Butte Creek Campground.
We wondered around in the dark trying to find a place to string up a hammock; wondering off into the tall grass, going for a little hill climb, riding through a few peoples camp sites, until we finally found a spot.
We pitched camp and headed to the bar to listen to the band and see if we could find a Fat Tire.

The bar there is really groovy. Saw dust on the floor and graffiti everywhere.
I love a bar that encourages vandalism. :beerchug:
The band was good, little gal had some energy.
We downed a few cold libations :beerchug:and headed back to camp for some much needed rest.
It wasn’t long before Paul was snoring. And I was left to swing in the breeze sipping whiskey and watching the night sky.

The next morning we cleaned up a bit and headed back into town.

darn it i just lost a page of data. :banghead:

tomorrow, Rapid, Rushmore, and Iron Mountain Road.
