SRT8 KILL

I almost never race anybody. Just not much around thats worth the effort. This guy surprised me. I was taking a nap at the light and this horrible squeal awakens me. I look over and see this sedan about forty feet out. OH HELL NO, not this puppy dog. I thotle up mildly, and I'm not really gaining. @ 5500 rpm I yank it open. Wheel came up a foot or so as I walked past him. By mid 2nd gear I was leading by 75 yards or so. I shut her down and a few seconds later he blows by full tilt. At the next light he tells me "Good race" and I say "who, me, I'm just on a nice quiet ride". He said he had tried to race some vettes but no takers. Then he tells me how bikes are a little too quick for him. I explained how maybe he shouldnt pick on the biggest/baddest one out there. Maybe go race a harley. He says, well, it would have been different had we been on the freeway. I replied, yeah, you would have never seen me again! Hope I didnt bore you guys, thanks for listening.

There is one TT supra around here that can run turbo busa's. . . It's rediculous. He's pushin like 1200 or 1500hp. I don't remember which. Anyway, the thing is retartedly fast.

The Supra probably costs $30,000 and has that much invested in it.

Well the statement "Heavily Modified" reminds me of a guy "here in Vegas"....

I'm puttin' to work at a mild-mannered 80mph as I'm passing the Red Rock Casino out on the 215.  I always eyeball the onramps looking for fast-coming dark sedans with the lights on the grills......Well, anyway...I see what appears to be a candy blue SS style Viper coming on just ahead of me with a license plate that says "2000 HP"..

....so I says to myself, "Spudley, what'd'ya think of that plate

?..

..", and I says to myself, "Hmmmmmmmmm....yaaaah right"  

So I pass quietly as I'm in the #1, and the next thing ya know....he swings aggressively out on "MY TAIL"....

Well ya can't scare the Ol' Spudster like that because my left foot reacts violently in unison with my right wrist...

...well I tell ya...I BANGED the second gear rev limit with a passion, clicked third and the run was ON.....as I'm looking waaaaay down the line for clearance running well up to "cruising speed", I peek in the rearview "expecting" a MAJOR gap, did I say GAP

......OKAY, I'm expecting little tiny pin-hole size headlights, like "ALL" the others.....I was STUNNED to actually see the front end of that Viper not more than 200 feet behind me.

He was working it well.....so as we're approaching Far Hills stoplight slowing to legal freeway speeds, yes we have a freeway here in Vegas "with" a stoplight, he slides over in the left turn lane, him and his buddy smilin' thumbs-uppin' me, and having a GREAT time....as we go our separate ways I'm wavin' and respecting a nice piece of automotive workmanship.......

NOTE TO SELF: (and anyone else here in the Pacific Southwest)........ Beware of license plates with "2000 HP" attached to a candy blue SS style paint job........THERE'S ONE IN EVERY CROWD, but here in Vegas, ONLY ONE.....so far....

It doesn't suprise me that you killed an SRT-8 (good kill BTW). What cracks me up is that every driver of Dodge or Chrysler products who happens to own an R/T thru SRT model thinks they're the Sh*t. They drive around recklessly thinking their ride is a Maclaren or Ferrari. I've had a couple Chargers think they're racing but I'm putting around in 2nd and actually pull them without even trying. AS you said, it doesn't take much to do the vanishing act.

I got a '06 300SRT8 (wife's car) and I can say after my 4 tix, yes that car is SCARY fast-it will dust a C5 vette and most 'Stangs with ease, but a BUSA

I've visited the SRT forums and I have to say-theres an awful lot of puffy-chested guys on there who think they're 12-n-11-sec. rides are King of the F**kin Road....most dont own bikes shud I guess they would have no REAL idea of what speed is-here's a pic of my bike n her ride (ah, the good 'ole days of OE paintjobs)

But thank you, Capt. Ray, for letting that goofball know whats up-n he thought FREEWAY would be better for him??? LoL he'd be lucky to see your taillight after the first bend in the road!
