Get ready for the blind to show up, you know the ones who say they will never get it passed, that it's just the conservatives spreading fear, the US Supreme court ruled against the DC ban, etc etc.

Those proposing and backing this bill are hoping for people to show up with those ideas. They are the ones that are hoping that everyone thinks this could not pass for those that think this way will not stand in the way of making it a reality.

The liberals will stand behind this one and say it isn't an infringement that they don't want to take guns away, it will make the streets safer, yada yada yada

Ask yourself this question before you flame me. How many criminals will register their stolen guns? How many criminals will this stop from preventing a crime with a gun? How many good people who would never commit a crime with a gun will be made criminals because of this bill?

It's an attack on the second amendment. No doubt about it!

It'll never happen. If it does, it'll be the nail in Obama's political coffin and will be overturned in 4 years when the next Republican takes office. You see, conservatives outnumber liberals in this country, despite what you hear in the biased media. You only need to look at the 2004 election to realize this. The overwhelming majority of Bush votes should show you. That means that many Republicans voted for Obama because they were dismayed by the economy and the direction of the country. These same Republicans will keep Obama on a very short leash for the next 4 years. When he commits political suicide, and make no doubt that he will, they will be pulling the red plunger in 2012.
