The GoPro Hero also has a mode where you can put the camera on to take a pic every 2 seconds. Hit a twisty section and let it go. Some shots from last weekend. Pretty sweet stuff. ______________________________________ PashnitBusa.com --> Parts & Accessories for your Hayabusa Questions? Hello, I was wondering which mounting method you liked the most? I'm always worried about suction cups falling off and I don't even want to think about putting sticky stuff on my bike! |

I can dig it!

Keith asked about the mount I built, realized haven't posted up much about this. Might be handy info. I already had the RAM camera mount- basically a round flat plate with a 1" ball on the bottom, so it took a bit of elbow grease, a threaded tap to make the threads in the mount, and a phillips machine screw from the bottom of the tool box. RAM mounts are expensive (I've invested around $300 in mounts & misc RAM bits through the years) but they do work great and give me exactly the style of shots I'm looking for. I took the RAM camera mount, and drilled and tapped it. Then drilled a hole in the GoPro mount, then countersunk it with a larger drill bit. My phillips screw head is flush, and I've still got the doublesided tape as a vibration damner. It's worked great. This particular arm has worked the best. I've got 14 1" RAM balls mounted all over over the bike, and I can put the 6" arm on there and rotate to any position. A short RAM extension offers the ability to get 360 degree manueverability plus leveling. Been thinking of trying a 9" or 12" arm, but coupling two of these, I can get a good 2 feet away from the bike to film from. Note that you can film right side up, or upside down with the GoPro Hero, flip the camera upside down, hit a button and it records the video the right way. ______________________________________ PashnitBusa.com --> Parts & Accessories for your Hayabusa Questions? Pashnit, here's what I did to get it mounted on the RAM plate. I actually used the mount that the camera came on in the box. I routed down the plexiglass plate to be about the same size as the mount, then drilled a 7/16 hole into it from the bottom, then threaded the RAM thread into the plexiglass to the right depth. This way, the VHB tape is holding the mount on the plexiglass, and the plexiglass is firmly screwed onto the RAM plate. I intent to put a few zip ties or something to catch the camera should the mount or mounting plate break. Here's a pic. Hope to get some good video at the Bash keeping my fingers crossed!!

Sent a GoPro Hero to John in New Zealand the other day. He sent me this back in return taken with the GoPro. See the speedo? That rocks. ![]() ![]() ![]() ______________________________________ PashnitBusa.com --> Parts & Accessories for your Hayabusa Questions? txbusa had turned me onto this camera. I luv the super wide angle lens it really gives great perspective shots. I saw they also have one for RC cars which makes it a realy tiny camera but with the same features. I can't believe how inexpensive these cameras are. I may have to get one some day soon. ______________________________________ 2009 Super Streetbike's Top Speed Challenge Winner Unlimited naturally aspirated class ![]() |

Very nice video~!~ Saw your knee jerk back once when it touched down and reminded me of the AMA races at VIR recently. One of the guys knee puck dug into the ground on the inside of a curve and jerked it back hard. He went into the grass and laid down. They thought it might have torn his groin. Ouch~!~ ______________________________________ ![]() ~!~There's no substitute for Horsepower~!~ |
