Some say racing is all about balls.

At cebera, we take it to heart. We look at a racing machine, and we see opportunities to apply state of the art technology to the reduction of mass and friction. Where this matters most is with parts that rotate. Rotational mass. Reducing friction and rotational mass results in gains, often very large gains, in horsepower delivery (efficiency), reliability, durability, acceleration and deceleration. The things that matter.
At the risk of being overly basic, we'll state the obvious. The reason for bearings is simple: Things roll better than they slide. The wheels on your bike are like big bearings. They function much better than would, for example, skis. That is because when things slide, the friction between them causes a force that tends to slow them down. But if the two surfaces can roll over each other, the friction is greatly reduced.

Bearings serve the purpose of "bearing" the mass and forces upon the mass of a rotating object. To the extent that the bearing can do its work without introducing undesirable effects upon the system, the better the bearing is suited to the application.

The range of undesirable effects which imperfect bearings can create include drag, rotational mass (inertia and momentum), vibration, and friction causing wear. These conditions can result from a number of different sources, including distortion of the balls under load, imbalance of the balls, balls sliding instead of rolling, the requirement of high levels of lubricant, heat and expansion, and the galling effect of similar materials.
Thus, a bearing which can do its work without introducing any negative effects, such as those described, over a very long time period, would be the perfect bearing. It would result in increased efficiency in the system, meaning, for example, that the greatest possible percentage of the horsepower generated by a motor would reach the wheels.
In motosports, and motorcycle applications, "perfection" might be defined as minimal mass, minimal friction and drag, minimal service requirement, minimal wear upon related parts, maximum life, and maximum endurance in the widest possible range of operating environments.

damn. I just ordered a new set two weeks ago. Wish I knew you guys had these. Would you PM me the name of the manufacturer? Just curious if they're from the same good place as some of the others. I understand if you can't/won't let me know the name I just figured I would ask.
