First off, I love my 2006 hayabusa. I've been hearing people say that it's the world's fastest production motorcycle. But from what I've read, the R1 and the GSX1000R have around 180 horses, are 150 lbs lighter, and redline at 4000 rpm's higher. So is it true that the hayabusa is the fastest, or is that just a rumor that's been going around?

It's been a tight race over the last few years (ZX14 actually held the title for a year), but the Busa is still at the top.

Because of the 300kph restriction in effect since 2001 their have been no other official record attempts have been made by the major manufacurers. That means that since the Hayabusa was the last motorcycle to claim the record, that record still stands.

So does that "world's fastest" mean top speed? I thought it meant torque wise, it was quicker getting up to cruising speeds.

Did you ever see the video of the R1 topped out? Then the Busa fly's past it like it was standing still!

These guys are making the claim now and I wouldn't under estimate this bike Â* Â*This bike is restricted at 195mph from the factory due to tire limitations, so technically it is the fastest production bike...

Though its barely production...

Has anyone heard any actual performance numbers for the roadgoing Ducati Desmosedicci? It ought to be a fast mother as well!

Well just looking at the HP numbers and knowing the aero is there on both, its a close call.
Though I think the MV Augusta is still sexier Â*

$120,000 euros? ....
$15,000 Euros for the watch that goes with the bike?

I cant afford the VAT tax on the bike much less the watch...

I "think" I can buy a "production" Busa, bump the power to 300Hp + and still get out cheaper than just the watch

(I think 500 units are required for production status?)
