I do use the foam spacers and they do help. but 65+ and it's not enough. The cheaper side of me just ordered a new earbud mount for the Sena and bought some Klipsch buds. A whole lot cheaper than a new helmet and screen for now considering there is only a month or so of riding left.
I did buy the Sena mount that allows use of ear buds. Worked fine, but was kind of cumbersome with the buds popping out of my ears. Maybe I needed better fitting buds, but I stopped using it when I broke the earphone jack on the mount.
I guess it would be cheaper spending $40 on a new mount but...
I am not ditching the Sena, but I have been thinking, and it is probably smarter to try and reduce the wind buffeting prior to upgrading to a new helmet. Someone recommended Helibars and MRA touring screen. I do find that when I pop my head up over the screen it is better.
Anyone done these...
I guess I have to break down and get a new helmet. This one served me for 3 years. Maybe the combination of a better helmet and a touring screen would do it.
But with turbulence and ear plugs, which I used to wear, I could not hear my music or talk with my friend via headset. I tried. I was looking for some screen that will push the wind wash over my helmet.
I was already researching either the RX-Q but don't want to spend the cash and still be...
I have switched from the stock screen, to a Puig double bubble, and back to Zero Gravity screen that is similar to stock. I continuously moan about the wind noise but deal with it. Today, I took my wife's SV650 for a spin. I was amazed how clearly i could hear my Sena BT headset. It was much...
I have the 10 and have not tried the 5, but I am extremely happy with mine for over a year. No problems with the pins. I run mine with the optional base and use earbuds. The firmware updates just keep improving as well. I also have a 3BR Powersports USB port so I never have to worry.
I did not feel anything different doing 75, so I am guessing I will be good until I can get to the dealer. I just want to take advantage of the rest of the season!
I had a new set of tires put on about 1,500 miles ago. I rode home from work yesterday and noticed the rear wheel weights had fallen off. The only thing left is the white tape that held them on. I did not notice any handling problems and she was running great at 75+.
Aside from it being only...
Congrats! I picked mine up in the pouring rain. Never rode such a powerful bike. I said the same thing about C-mode. I thought I was riding home in it until I got home and read the manual. I was in A-mode, but the bike was so well behaved I never used the mode selector again.
If anyone needs a stock 2008 seat to send in for modification, I have a spare. I bought it on Ebay for $70 shipped. I can do the same $70 shipped and will send directly to whomever you would need.
I bought one thinking I would get my seat done but bought a few other things and it is just...
Just wanted to post a pick of my bike as it sits after changing the fairing. Not many mods except for slip-ons, double bubble, saddlebags and matching tailbag and Tapp Lite USB.
Makes me happy!
Now funds are going for another Rick Hinderer XM-18.
I have a friend who sent in his Speed Triple seat to Mean City Cycles as lowering the bike was not enough to get a good footing on the ground. He is extremely happy with his seat and I believe it was $45 plus shipping for reshaping but they offer supreme seat for much cheaper than $375.
For...
