November 1, 2018: An Update re Inline Fuel Filter Modification from chrisjp procedure.
I removed the inline filter and opened it today, no foreign contamination at all.
Short season this year, only 1600 miles on the bike and the filter.
Will probably not change it next winter or until a...
An Update re Inline Fuel Filter Modification from chrisjp procedure.
Been a long winter in Southern Alberta 2017/2018 and finally got to ride the Toy at the end of April 2018.
I had reset the valves, checked the starter and did the fuel filter mods and no way to really test it until April...
I have all winter and I have a few more things to do after I get it mostly back together.
Online parts are often 2-3 weeks away, sometimes less but not usually. I can get known pieces ahead of time but usually there's other things come up.
While I had everything off I took the starter out...
November 29, 2017. Later on. I got it. I was using the wrong snap ring to hold the plunger in the retracted position. The "Outside" snap ring has to be used and I was using the inside one. All is well now and assembly is underway.
November 29, 2017. 2008 B-King. Adjusted valves 5 years ago and am doing them again and they require it. The cam chain adjuster doesn't want to extend as the manual describes it by rotating the engine 180 degrees in reverse rotation. This worked well 5 years ago. Any suggestions from...
Hi, thank you for a detailed modification, very much appreciated.
I'm planning on doing it to my bike this winter, are there any changes you would make now after having it for awhile?
Also never heard of a unicoil until today, looks like a winner.
Thanks again.
Thank you. I couldn't find this post and made a new, please ignore it.
I usually get new parts but used is good for certain items.
I'll try Honda East for my next batch of new parts and see how it goes.
September 27, 2016 Thank you dave s. This morning I bypassed the switch and then went for a 3 hour / 120 mile ride and it ran flawlessly.
All weather, road, traffic conditions were similar to when it was displaying the CHEC.
The switch had oil in it so I guess it was able to let some...
Thank you for the response. Do you mean total disconnect or jump it direct? One thing I forgot to do was to actual side stand put down when in gear. It's on the bench now with the switch in the vice.
Sunday September 25, 2016 Hi, I'm encountering a similar problem with the CHEC display and I'm leaning to the side stand switch but it seems to function on the bench ok. What did you fid wrong with yours and how did you determine that. The damn things are $$$ and I don't wish to be a parts...
September 25, 2016: Hello everyone. For the last couple of weeks I'm having the same issue while riding, the CHEC will come on, the temp goes to maximum and the gear selector number will go away and just a minus sign (-) will appear. It stays like that momentarily and then goes back to...
