I can’t say for sure with the Gen3, as I never experienced the hot start issue with it, but on my Gen2 it made me plan gas station stops to allow for pushing it off the forecourt and waiting for 10 minutes before she would go again. I put an EarthX lithium battery in that and never had the issue...

I’ve used EarthX batteries in my bikes ever since I got one for my Gen2 Hayabusa a few years back Which solved the hot start issue I was having. Since then, I’ve put them in all my bikes. Got one in my current Gen3.

Not specific to the Gen3, as I had the same issue with my Gen2, but I don’t like how I keep wanting to spend more money on her. :D

I ordered the Schnitz Raising links. You could try Lust Racing in the UK - they do the raising links too.

Thankfully threads were fine so was easy to tap them out with the edge of a screwdriver until I could get pliers on them, after I’d had a beer to drown my sorrows! Have replaced with better bolts and just snugged them in.

I’ve ordered my raising links. Can’t wait to install them! Are you running stock tyre dimensions or have you changed that as well? Not sure if raising the height of the tyre as well is needed or overkill. Will run mine with the stock tyres until they are toast, but keen for any advice/insight...

What is battery life like?

The pursuit of aero and downforce in MotoGP makes the bikes look uglier in my opinion. Although I imagine BMW will sell all of the M1000RR’s easy enough even with the massive front aero.

I attempted to change the oil on a 2016 KTM 390 and one of the oil filter bolts snapped. Was using a torque wrench and they broke before it got to the specified 8Nm of torque. Cursing myself.

A telltale sign of a good bike is if you glance over your shoulder at her as you walk away. Sometimes I go down to the garage just to look at her.

I’m interested as well as I want to get one. Monimoto is certainly the most advertised it seems. I was weighing up that versus a more traditional car alarm company solution like Mongoose. Keen to hear if anybody on the forum is using any.

I love how easy she is to ride in traffic. When it is busy or you are not in the mood you can drive her like a car - low revs, leave it in high gear, plod along. She is great to commute on. Same as ticking off the motorway miles. Just does it. No fuss. She doesn’t egg you on to be an idiot...
