Short answer is there is no short answer....transmission out and rebuilt......

My 2nd gear surges.....goes into but slips. Was told it was the gear shifter springs, but taking the out there was no problem, going to replace them anyway. Is this classic 2nd gear is out? As I said it goes into 2nd just surges till hitting 3rd.
