2000 Ry Backfiring Through Throttle Bodies And Fouling Plugs.

Hello, hope you see this reply. i wasn’t sure which thread that you sent me the question for but it seems that it was for my big first issue, that I was chasing on my bike, for about a year and half, the backfiring, fi light on, after reving to 9k, plug fouling. The crankshaft sensor, had become...

Comment by 'David Offor' in item '1999 Busa starter whiring not engaging'

I had a problem with my gen 1 2000 busa, it would turn over slow and had a dull clonking noise when trying to Startup once hot. I took the starter off and opened it up, 2 of the magnets had come unbonded, I rebonded them with ‘no more nails’, it’s now fine again Good luck

    Fork seal and oil change.

Sometimes nature provides the ‘special tools’ :D. Straightening the headstock on one of my748 s, that i crashed getting my knee down on a roundabout, one week later repaired and riding around Spain for 2 weeks, good ole steel trellis frames on the Ducati’s.

Outside the blue pub, they do great wedges in there, also they cordon of the road and do a street race too, it always has something interesting going on. Don smith is next to the show ground, near Brinkley lodge, heading out to rakia gorge, I haven’t been in contact for a year tho. Nice pair of...

    Fork Seals

Worth checking that the brake pads aren’t rattling around in the callipers, if the clunk is under braking, i had a bike, with floating discs and the out ring was clunking against the worn disc rivets.

Blimey, i need to up my game, yours looks a lot more professional than mine, painted too! Photos are the best, great idea, to get the clearance around the 30mm top part, effective and a lot easier to make than mine. Are you near Ashvegas, tniwald? I was first in nz in 2005, for 3 months, after...

I actually copied my one from a YouTube video, i was lucky that i had the ‘main’ piece, just needed to drill, tap a couple of 10mm holes (first 2 didnt lineup lol) and i had to turn out, part of a shoulder, on the lathe, cut it in half and wola, looked in the Haynes manual after I had made it...

It made sense to do it that way, i always work alone, so I’ve become used to thinking of different ways of getting over problems  Note-: This method of lifting the front wheel only works with something above the bike (disclaimer). :D

Thanks Kiwi Rider. The photos uploaded pretty fast, where in nz are you? I’ve been there a few times, amazing place but I preferred the South Island. Yep, I’ve been a mechanic for over 30 years now, not a fitter, fixed a lot of things broke a lot of things and broke and fixed a lot of things...

Hi Nastee. Yep, i remember doing a set, that i had to do the ‘slide hammer’ technique with but i was happy to find, that it wasn’t needed with these, i didnt want to disturb the damper, so, there was no need to remove the Allen bolt, at the bottom of the fork, I’d only do that if a component...

    Fork seal and oil change.

I finally got round to doing my leaking fork seal. I’m guessing that this has been covered before but maybe my post could offer something new. After watching a couple of YouTube videos, I decided that it was definitely doable but I did have to make a tool, to be able to hold the tube down...

    Hayabusa bike rack.

Yep, it is a global problem, bad drivers. 45mph on a bike capable of 200+, that’s no joke. We have 70 limits on the motorways but now, average speed cameras are popping up everywhere, it’s getting worse and worse, every year. I saw 201mph on my first busa, on the A24, coming up from Brighton...
