Repairing Headers Before And After - Lots Of Pics

That video is great! A few years ago I did the math on ovaled piping when putting together a rear mount turbo system. The charge pipe from front to rear needed several spots flattened for clearance. The volume difference flowing through a round pipe versus an oval pipe was negligible. By...

Bottom Tabs On Gen 1 Frame. What Are(were) They For?

I appreciate it fellas. From what I've gathered they didn't come with center stands but you could add one? Obviously not what I'm looking to do tho. Gonna get in there and chop them off the rest of the way.

Bottom Tabs On Gen 1 Frame. What Are(were) They For?

The tabs on the bottom of my frame just behind the motor have been chopped off. Assuming this has something to do with the dogbone lowering links. Just curious what those were for originally. Btw...I'm digging my $350 harbor freight setup. Lift table, wheel chock and swingarm stand.

Repairing Headers Before And After - Lots Of Pics

Left my 92 CR250 pipe outside in February filled with water and got a big dent most of the way out when I was a teenager. That FMF pipe was nickel plated steel. I'm not sure it would budge on this small diameter stainless. This Brock's pipe is tough as nails. Never had the pleasure of riding...

    Starting Up

Just bought my bike a little over a month ago. It was hard to start but I figured out that the fast idle cable must be out of adjustment because anytime I tried to start it with the fast idle lever anywhere but a;; the way off, it would backfire repeatedly from flooding. Also 1/4" of travel on...

Repairing Headers Before And After - Lots Of Pics

Good to know. Mine was at that point too. Being a 1397 and running it all out my concern was those two cylinders not being able to breathe enough and getting too hot. Irrelevant now that I got a sidewinder but at least I have a badass pipe if I score another Busa. May even just sell this one who...

Repairing Headers Before And After - Lots Of Pics

Thank you. Not knowing what the material was and certainly never having worked with it I wanted to keep the heat low and the movement slow. Knowing now it's stainless I might have taken a more aggressive approach knowing i could weld shut any punctures. I appreciate the compliment. I was...

Repairing Headers Before And After - Lots Of Pics

It crossed my mind to try a stud puller but once I started working with the pipes I knew there was little to no chance the studs would be strong enough. I'm still not entirely sure what type of material they are made of. The system said Titanium on the sticker but I'm not sure if that was...

Yes definitely the wrong hanger. With the brackets that move the front pegs down and back it compounded the problem. Since it's a dragbike only for me I picked up a sidewinder. So this pipe is going on the shelf for now.

... and After which involved heating with MAP gas and shaping with woods dowels and steel pipes. Then many hours of tin-smithing with body hammers and finally a brushed finish on the muffler

Repairing Headers Before And After - Lots Of Pics

Bought my 2005 Hayabusa last month. Race only bike that I bought pretty much turnkey. It came with a really cool Brock's Hindle Street Smart Titanium exhaust. But the pipe was flattened pretty bad at the 2 and 3 pipes by the oil pan due to a strapped front end and lowering links. It also had...

    None Ya Business, Don't Ask

Excellent policy! A couple years ago my brother bought a new car. Before the first oil change he was hit head on. Insurance company decides the car can be fixed (whoever decided surely lost their job). After 2 months putting it back together, the new car just isn't right. He trades it in on...

    New To Me 2005

Thanks! Motor on the bench belongs to the seller. He had a shop full of fast Busas. A couple turbo bikes in stock frames and two full chassis bikes. As for me my parts collection is limited to all my old GS1100E parts... for now :)

    New To Me 2005

Spent a lot of time here reading. Finally signed up and wanted to introduce myself. Picked up my first Hayabusa last week. Looked for the right bike for a couple years and finally settled on one that had many of the mods I wanted already. I should mention that this will be a dragbike only. So...
