Is boosted cycle performance still open?

I know I’ve been dormant for awhile. But with good reason. Yes I spent a lengthy period of time in Rehab last year for my alcoholism. Most know I worked for the railroad for 16 years. After loosing my job there unexpectedly I ended up relapsing. That was a little over a month long bender. Most...

Is boosted cycle performance still open?

Yes, still open. With the exception of takin in JoeSTi’s bike, I haven’t taken on any extra work in at least 8 months. Even just small stuff like basic maintenance stuff as while it could be quick extra money, more times then not it ends up turning in to a project of some sort. And that just...

    Jumping Timing

Jumping 20 degrees in timing rapidly with be very noticeable on the butt dyno. I think the gen 1 sees 28-32 degrees of timing in the wot columns. So with that said seems like the sb6 is reading off all together.

    Lambda Narrow band o2

Actually as long as the engine is running, it’s using it. That’s why if you forget to turn off the o2 sensor in the tune, or don’t use the eliminator sim changing values in the map won’t have any effect. The ecu will add or take away fuel based off the o2 sensor if it’s not turned off.

    Bad/Worn Combustion Chamber

Yeah that’s definitely low. I think spec is 190-230psi or right about there. Theres 3 reasons why you get low compression. First and the most common is a bad head gasket, usually cause by over heating. The other two are leaking from the valves or the piston rings. A leak down test will give you...

    Question about E 85

Be careful with recommending M1. It’s not a good fuel for street use. Stock ignition systems won’t light it off, and lastly you need to keep on top of your maintenance. Because you have to flow so much fuel, the downside is getting really bad fuel dilution in the oil. For example, I tuned a...

    Question about E 85

Na and boosted, x98 has always made the most power.

    Question about E 85

I gained 12whp from pump gas to pump E85. On X98 in boosted apps, 30whp over pump gas at the same boost level.

    Cylinder 2-4 not firing.

Bypassing the clutch switch makes the ecu stay in the neutral map. The fueling and ignition is way different in that map, and keeps you from making full power. If you put an ecu in it that has the 2 step turned on, that’s your problem.

    Q16 or MR12 on 16:1 engine compression

Never used c45. power gains are usually pretty linear over gasoline. I also usually see peak tq stretch out a few hundred more rpm.
