That's a heck of a deal. I was stoked when I paid 6k for my 08 with 4,500 a few months ago. These bikes are pretty bullet proof. I'd love to have bought mine from an older gent. I think it's safe to say it hasn't been abused any. :)
That must be nice. I can't tell you the number of wheels (bike and car) I've damaged over the years from our piss poor roads. We have some of the worst roads in the country. Our tax dollars are obviously not hard at work there.
One of the main reasons I'll never do a cf wheel. It's forged or...
Exactly. QS are less involved and have less things to maintain and worry about.
Depends on who you poll. I've been street riding for over 20 years and have yet to ride with anyone running an air shifter. So if you poll the street crowd, I would be willing to bet, most everyone would lean QS...
I agreed with a lot of that in my post above yours. Annatori makes a qs that doesn't require the use of a PC (standalone unit) and is less expensive than most other offerings. I also like how easy Annatori is able to tailor the shifting to your requirements.
I guess I'll just reiterate that a...
QS is pretty much all self contained. I have heard about a lot more problems and tuning issues with air shifters. At the track where you are dragging your feet when launching an air shifter makes much more sense and the consistency of a button press is much better than using your foot. On the...
Why is that Mike? I see them run at the track quite a bit but I rarely see an air shifter on street bikes. What's the advantage in the twisties? I've run a qs for years and would never switch for street use.
There's a Nicky Hayden RC51 for sale locally that I am really contemplating buying just to preserve. One of the few good guys who was a great ambassador to the sport.
It's a dynojet. If you are looking into a qs I'd also check out Annitori. I've run them on my last 2 bikes and love the infinite adjustability and straight forward installation. All programming can be done via cell phone. Sorry for the thread jack.
