With the tire on the ground and the trans in neutral grab the rear sprocket. Try to rotate it back and forth. There will be some play but if it seems excessive then pull the wheel and inspect the cushions for wear or damage. If it looks worn then replace them. They're pretty cheep.

I've changed the cush drives on my CBXs and instead of actually wearing down, they shrink and get hard. A symptom will be a feeling of driveline snatch, like you need a chain adjustment when you really don't. Heat and age is its only enemy.

I have just replaced my cush-drives 2nd time, I do this every 10k no problems at all and relatively cheap... ______________________________________
