Default Interior Decorating Quandry

Okay ladies... I am trying to re-arrange my furniture... and add a place for a recliner I hope Santa is bringing me...

I have been looking through a bunch of magazines... problem is.. none of the magazines have living rooms with TVs in them!! I have a very nice fireplace but it is too tall to put the TV over the mantle (I would have a permemnant crick in my neck)... I'd like the furniture to face both the fireplace and the TV... but out living room is also a really OPEN room..we share the space with the dining room and the entrance to the kitchen.

Any of y'all wanna post pics of your living areas.. with TVs.... or if any of y'all have ideas....

I can post pics of my space later when I get home... I was just wondering if y'all had any suggestions.

Jules I wish that I could help. I NEED an interior decorator myself! I have absolutely NO decorating, flower arranging, or any of that other stuff abilities. God knows I wish I did. My mom has come and hung curtains at my houses everytime the Navy has moved us (a lot!). Most of the time she picked the curtains out and bought them...LoL!

Why does this pose a problem? It sounds like it would be a nice divider for the rooms.......

because if we put it one way, it will cause a pedestrian to walk the WHOLE way around the room to get to the other side... or we would have to put it in the middle of the room so it has access from both sides....

Dividing the room isn't a big problem... my current furniture handles that pretty well.. I'm just tired of it.

I can relate to this quandary. Jailbait and I had the same problem in just about every room. Glad it's over.

Is your TV a flat screen? If so a wall mount would be nice.

Also some great sales on LCD televisions at this time. Goes with the recliner.

Do you have enough furniture and space to make 2 seating areas?

When we built our house we specifically asked for no fireplace. We didn't want to lose a whole wall for the 3 days we could use it in Dallas and our living room isn't set up to have 2 seating areas.

Hang a flat panel above the fireplace and put the dog on a diet.

my inlaws have theirs mounted way up with the tilt wall mount... I'm not all that crazy about it... but I do want a flat screen eventually....

I actually have 4 puppies... I think 3 are in the pictures (Titus-the little white one, Nelly-the LARGE brown one, and Apollo-the English Bulldog by the coffee table)... Daisy was probably outside.

Can you seperate an area in front of the fireplace with two sitting chairs and go the other way? Looks like a huge room.

(and for those asking why I am posting in here I'm wearing a dress and heels today)
