After a LONG YEAR of not being at the track (talk about horrible withdrawls!!) I'm finally taking to the track again on Thanksgiving weekend. Auto Club Speedway's AMA Superbike Course will be the site of the action. I'll be taking it easy in intermediate Level 2. It's been over a year since I last ran with "A" group so I need some time to pop my cherry. Sign up here if anyone's interested. They usually charge $270/trackday, but is discounted to $229. Great price! Fastrack Riders Hope to see u guys in Fontucky, CA!! ______________________________________

Thanx Mr Bogus. Yeah, it's been a year but the intense cycling I've been doing really helped with my overall endurance throughout the day. However, I am sore all over my quads and certain areas of my hips. There's no substitution for high performance motorcycle riding-it works the muscles we typically don't use on a day to day basis I definitely plan on getting at least more than 1 trackday for 2010. Totally ridiculous this year in terms of money and scheduling. One of these days man, we gotta get the East/Mid-West/West .Org trackday style meet going. ______________________________________

Nice, glad it went well! Ditto on the conditioning, I am ALWAYS sore after doing a track day (or two)! I have tried running, my wife's stepping / climbing work out thingy, even tied my bike up in the garage and ran fake laps with it for 20 minute intervals..... Never fails, riding at the track worked something I missed.... We just need more track days... Sounds like you REALLY need more... hats off! ______________________________________

![]() I have tried to pull off 2 track days in a row but just too far out of shape for that.. about lunch time day two, my body says "enough" and I get tired.. either more track days or gotta find a workout routine I can stick with.. |

on the football thang!Last year was pretty epic though. The west coast .ORG crew did our 2nd annual Miller Motorsports Park trip and ran the Full 4.5 mile course x 3 days. I only missed 2 sessions all weekend. One session due to putting on some new rubber, and the 2nd due to rain/hail storm that the track ended up shutting down for an hour anyways. But I ran green to checkered everytime out and didn't feel fatigued one bit. Ran 95% of my maximum everytime. However, by the drive home, that's when the soreness really started setting in. That year (2008) I did over 20 trackdays so my muscles/cardiovascular system were in tip top shape. This year, although I've done tons of mileage through cycling, I didnt have a problem getting acclimated to riding a m/c at speed it was the muscles associated with hanging off/getting tightly tucked inside the fairing and windscreen, and working the brake/clutch levers. But yeah, u guys have experienced it this year and already know what I'm talking about. PPL who haven't done TD's, or let alone, ridden a motorcycle don't realize how much work it involves. Especially to ride one competently and at speed. I'll stick my HR monitor on next time I do a TD and I'll post the data. I guarantee my HR is just as high (170 bpm or greater) doing a TD as it is cycling up a 10% grade moutain. ______________________________________

| http://www.fastrackriders.com/NewTimes/091128/320.html here are laptimes from the event. #L2-37. I'm down 7 seconds from last year's pace, but I'm sure I could've made that up if I ran the Sunday trackday. BTW-Chris Ulrich is an AMA Superbike pro, finished 12th overall this year, was doing two-up rides to raise funds for the RRW action fund, and smoked everybody in L2 and almost everyone in L3 To also put things into perspective: Mat Mladin and Ben Spies lapped that same exact track at 1:23's!! easily 20 seconds faster than most of us. And 10 seconds faster than the fastest guy in the A group. ______________________________________

2006 GSX-R1000. Bridgestone BT-003 Type 3 (medium compound RACE). I use tire warmers set to 175 deg F, then set pressures as follows: 28 F (Hot), 27 R (Hot). Elka 3 way adjustable shock with 10 mm ride height added for improved geometry, facilitate turn-in, and to work well with the race tires. 5 mm front fork showing at the top triple clamp for the tight, twisty stuff....set flush on the super fast tracks like Miller Motorsports Park or Willow Springs for stability. For 2010: new fork rebuild thru Catalyst Reaction Suspension (new internals, lighter spring rate, etc), adjustable offsets, installation of Yosh Swingarm pivots, 520 conversion kit 16-44, just to name a few. Oh yeah, I've got these new KILLER Vesrah Racing Compound Brake pads! They weren't cheap ($250/full set), but they are AWESOME!! I'll tell u I won every single braking dual on Saturday. The most exhilarating thing was passing 7 riders in the hard braking T5/6 and T12 zones. That's so much cooler than the front/back straight speeds or even draggin the knee. I'll find the packaging and tell u the exact pads I bought. ______________________________________
