Backorder blues

I ordered my Powerbronze Airflow LT windscreen from superbikestore.com on Monday of this week, early afternoon. They are located in MI, so usually anything that ships from there to me in MD usually is only about 2-3 days.

Today, I get an email saying that the screen is on backorder for 10 days- this is 48 hours after the order was placed.. Am I over-reacting, by being a little irked that I'm just finding out now about the b/o? Or, am I just a product of today's impatient society?

Thx HBR- I actually wrote back to the email, requesting upgraded shipping b/c of the unadvised delay.. I know I read somewhere, something about the customer being #1?

It sucks that they take your money....then two days later they say it's on back order.

I just waited 5 weeks for a screen from kneedraggers.I wasn't told anything untill i emailed them after waiting 3 weeks.I will never order from them again.
 
Yeah I had the same problem with a local vendor and then Schnitz. Took me 8 weeks to finnaly get my BDE exhaust, then I had to send half of it back cause they sent the wrong stuff.

When I ordered my hugger made by powerbronze from superbikestore.com, it took forever! to get here, but they were very nice & polite every time I called them. Powerbronze by the way is in the UK so it probably takes an act of congress to ship that stuff over here.

Exactly right. They have a lot of nanny state export rules and holidays. 3-6 weeks is not unusual.
 
OK, well that helps explain a little bit- Didn't know the source was across the Atlantic.

I'm just ansy b/c the weather is supposed to start warming up here next wk, and I wanted to have it on by then. Oh well, it's in the dirty weathered cracked-skin hands of FATE now!!

They were very responsive when I bought mine. Got an email a day or two from them that the clear screen I ordered was on back order, but they dad a light smoke screen in stock they could ship same day. After talking to them about the differences because I wanted to shoot video from a tank cam, I changed the order to the light smoke screen and it arrived a few days later. The tint is light enough to shoot through, as they said. And I like the look of the light smoke better than the clear, so its all good in the end.

i ordered a mesh jacket from a local dealer and after waiting a week they called and found out it was on back order! i paid cash and they wanted to write me a check?! i told them from now on when i order to make sure it's in stock before taking my money. gotta go back to them cause they match/beat any price. but atleast now i know how long i'd have to wait before purchasing.
 
Got a response- They're upgrading the shipping at least for the delay.. Now I just have to ride it out I guess!

The local hub for kneedraggers is actually near my work. The dudes seemed cool, but when I found my jacket on the web for almost $50 cheaper, they didn't even budge on their price.

So, I guess you can figure out who DIDN'T get my money- They acted tho like it was no big deal so I guess they didn't need it.. Their loss! It was 300 clams, and the store wasn't too busy when I was in there
