you never know what to belive with these vids. it depends on the drivers. each vehicles set up and all that kind of stuff. i seen a busa beat a viper with 1000 horse. the busa was suped too. and it was with 2 professional drivers. you cant take having professional drivers for granted because there is alot to when you shift and stuff. this video doesnt say much.

Wow. That's quite the car. I didn't know a supra could have that kinda top end.. must have changed the gearing along with all that motor work.

quoted from the forum about this race on streetracingisnotacrime.com

"There will be another video that shows the result better. We got up to about 180, i was in 5th gear, not enough room to get into 6th gear or who knows how much worse it would have been. Johnvon you were a good sport, no excuses and he ran all out WITH NITROUS.

180 certainly seems slow for a 1397 with NOS

This is funny. A guy I work with said I was NUTS for riding a turbo busa. He is building a 950rwhp Supra with the goal of beating a stock busa. He says i'm nuts and he's the one with the 950 hp Supra!!!! I like the fact that the busa is the bike to which most tuners aspire to beat. We are the bar!

we put together a Dodge Stealth that would out mile an hour a busa (built for Silver state rally)... big turbo, big intercoolers, DickLandy heads, (all told about 11 grand in upgrades) and it ran 224 mph at the rally (top speed, avg was 201)

Nice... but I think this shows more of what the difference between a stocker and a big bore nitrous can do... repost from a few months back.

www.titanmotorsports.com

they have a street legal supra that runs something like an 8.6 in the 1320. God only knows what the top speed on that thing is.

Let me think about this one. I can spend $30k to buy a sports car then another $15k to $30K to get it to beat a $10k bike. I think I would prefer taking a $10k bike and investing about $3k to $7k and there wont be a car that has not had about $100k of work done to it that could get close. Hey and have around $40k in the bank.

While the busa is sprayed i don't remember anything saying it was a 1397 from past vids. There's another vid floating around with that busa going against a piped zx-14 for 3 runs. First 2 runs the Zx-14 won and the second run the busa was spraying. Busa won the 3rd.

Good run though, but fulltilts/nickslick vids have shown what happens with stock and tuned bikes going against these big hp cars. Car's don't do too well. New busa and improved 14 for 2008 has changed the game all over again.

My old 95 Supra with BPU++ Mods could hand with a big bore busa any day from a roll to about 150-160mph. After the big single upgrade and making 900whp there wasn't much on the street that could mess with my Supra from a Roll. From a dead stop it's a different story, heavy car, high boost, and lack of traction made it tough.

No gearing mods required to hit 180+ with the Supra. I had GPS verified top speeds of 187mph in mine. It is nice to have a less expensive bike though that can pretty much hang with anything on the street. I had about 38-40 grand into my Supra (including cost of the car). Pretty good video, I think they are in New Mexico, a guy I work with knows the car and the bike owners both.

Says alot about the stature of the Busa

stealth 220's... I know of a few turbo busa's that eclipse 230's and higher...

it amazes me how people will drop a ton of cash into a car to try and beat the average busa.

It's just a matter of what you like. I know of guys that bikes just don't do it for them and they much rather mod a car. They know bikes are faster and to them, it's too easy to buy a Busa and go fast.
