dog bones

they are used for lowering the rear end of the bike....usually the easiest way to install them is with a rear stand and a hydraulic jack....I didn't have a rear stand at the time I installed mine so I used 2 jacks...

i was told that a longer dog bone will raise my bike giving it taller clearence
true?

nope... longer bonz goes lower. when u buy a 3 hole dogbone set, the last hole is the lowest setting.

10 min job to do this. go up, go down, no matter.....

just a suggestion, drop her to the middle hole first and take a ride that is about 2 inches that is prolly enough for street use . i dont have a stand yet so i used a couple bike tyedowns between posts in the garage and a jack to raise the bike and unload the suspention it makes lining up the bolts easy.

you can buy a LONGER DOGBONE for the back, this will raise your rear end 1 inch up giving you faster turn in, nuetral steering, and more ground clearance.

this is what i was told
true or what?

can some one explain in detail what use the DB does on the bike?
thanks

i have dont even know what it is or were it is /
wouldnt know if it hit me in the head
:blush:

no NOT LONGER....you can buy a SHORTER bone that will raise the rear to do as you say....you are getting the two mixed up

LONGER = LOWER
SHORTER = HIGHER

edit: these are what dog bones look like. This is the 3 hole lowering ones
