I have gone twice with our club, get there early and hang out in the parking lot. That way we are among the early ones to get into the city. We always meet near Dulles airport and have a police escort from there to the Pentagon.

There's another big meeting spot in Waldorf/Clinton. Nice hangout while waiting for your escorted ride to the Pentagon staging area. Not sure if I'm going to roll this year, but I'll let you know.
