Indian motorcycles

Hey gang,  I can get a pretty sweet price on an Indian Scout for a summer project. ( Buy, ride, clean, fix up, Sell ... )   Anyone here ever ride or own one?
It has an S&S 88 motor and retail is pretty low considering what goes on one.

Any thoughts  

  Ride, comfort, re-sell?

And the parts come from where ? since all the dealers went out of buisness.

And the Factory is Ka-Put ! Bankrupt, gone, BYE - BYE !  

But, they were mainly a basicly kit bike, so for the most part the aftermarket has parts ! Never ridden or owned one (doubt I would ever own a Harley type bike) but a guy here who comes in my restaurant has one. And told me for 90% of the parts there is NO problem. "UH" yet that is !!

I guess it's a : "You Pays your money, You takes your Chances", type of thing. But I don't think it would be a problem. See who has a maintance manual and do research on parts !
