Seriously, wtf is this for?

I'm guessing but if the photo is of a Gen I, it's probably the lift handle that's used when lifting the bike onto a centerstand.

I mean the black plastic piece that goes in the left side hole. And yes, Gen 1

Decoration so u cant see inside when the fairing is on. I guess it could also be for aero dynamic purposes. So that when ur riding the ao r doesnt go in side that area as much.

When you install the OEM center stand, its the grab bar to pull the bike up!

duke1 i have no i deal wth its for i looked at for mins.b4 i got pissed and took it off & replaced it with a alarm

i thougtht it was some kind of air inlet for the rectifier (the big electrical unit with the heat sinks on it)

It's just for looks. It finishes off the hole when the fairing is on. The right side has a flat black piece to match, sort of.

I figured it was just there for gits and shiggles from Suzuki. I was debating whether to leave it on or not.

It gives you a great handgrab for pulling the bike up on the rear stand :poke:

Don't PM John, I got this

I would also bet that its there so you wont jam your fingers into the frame or have water / debris going behind it into the trunk area.
