First Post.. Buying Road Rash Hayabusa?!

Hello everyone!

I found an 06' Hayabusa with only 6k miles that was unfortunately laid down approaching a stop light (+-5mph).

None of the fairings are cracked and the bike is priced at a very attractive $5600 but what do you think? Should I jump on it or run for the hills?

$6500 will get you a Busa WITHOUT issues so personally, I will keep looking. Aside from the road rash (which is of course FIXable), looks to be in good shape.

Hayabusa plastic is stupid expensive. If the title is regular and not salvage, I'd deduct a grand for fairing replacement -- even that will barely cover it...

If you already plan on modding and painting it then go for it (for the $5K negotiating price since it is damaged)

My bike is for sale for $7500 with a 4 into one exhaust, custom paint, and more

Thats a little steep, you can get a gen1 w/o road rash for around that price. The only good thing about it is the 6k miles but then again $200 can get you a speedo that says that so you cant really go off what the dash says

I"ll sell you this one for $6000 and paint it any color you want it. 02 with lots of goodies:laugh:

From what I saw in the pics, you would need a new nose, and left side lower, (Nose is around 380 and Lower is about 450, stator cover around 130, I suspect the mirror is scrapped and the fairing stay may be bent a little another 40 and 140, and I would look for the exhaust can to be dinged, scratched or loose) All in all, she is not a bad bike, but as has been said, you could get a pristine scoot for not much more than that, turn key. Ultimately, you know the constraints that you are working with - but if it were me, I might be looking for the same price on a clean scoot...

Being a paint & body tech, from pics i see no reason for plastic replacement. Some light repair and repaint. Do agree price is high for on that need work, $5g sounds about right.

Talk him down, $6500 is too much for that bike simply because of the cost you're going to incur in cosmetic repair, (You'll also want to do something about the mirrors and stator cover)
Still looks like a good bike though.
You've also got a few offers from .org members, I'd look into those, these folks know how to keep their bikes.
